My Go-To Beauty Products!
If you’re a makeup lover like me, you know the struggles of finding that perfect product. One that you don’t mind dropping some $$$ on because it’s just THAT GOOD!
Below, I list some of my go-to makeup products that I have never steered away from going back to as early as high school, and of course, some new kids on the block that have just really added to my makeup routine.
These beauty products consistently deliver the look and feel I love achieving in my everyday makeup looks. Check out the list below and give them a try if you haven’t already!
#1 Too Faced — Better Than Sex Mascara
First up on the list is the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara labeled #1 Selling Prestige Mascara In America…as it should be!
The one compliment I receive the most is always about my eyelashes. I have had countless questions about what mascara I use or if I am wearing falsies. I always always ALWAYS recommend this mascara.
I believe that a lot of what goes into getting your lashes long and voluminous is not the mascara formula itself but the brush! The way the mascara wand and bristles are designed delivers both a long and thick eyelash look. So if you want to get your eyelashes looking super voluminous, I recommend using this mascara in conjunction with the Too Faced Damn Girl Mascara. You won’t be disappointed!
Beauty Tip: When applying mascara, if you want to achieve a long and voluminous makeup look, let your mascara dry in between every few strokes to build upon and lengthen! I recommend 3–4 good coats!
#2 Smashbox — Cali Contour Palette
Ok, so you want to look bronzy, glowy, and a little flushed? Well, look no further; the Smashbox Cali Contour Palette is the only bronzing and contour pallet I use to sculpt, bronze, and highlight my features. What I love the most about this palette because each color works flawlessly together on the face to deliver a natural bronzed look. I usually never use blush, but after finding it in this palette and combining it with the bronzer, I love the sunkissed look it delivers!
Beauty Tip: Using the colors in the pallet contour, create any eyeshadow look. As someone who doesn’t use a lot of eyeshadow, I have found that these colors deliver cohesiveness to the face when you tie them into your eye makeup!
#3 MILK Makeup — Matte Bronzer
This is a newer product to my collection and, of course, another favorite! I had always heard good things about MILK Makeup but never brought myself to try any of their products until I came across their Matte Bronzer stick at TJ Maxx. The words Matte and Bronzer drew me!
My favorite thing about using this product is how light, creamy and blendable it is. Usually, I steer away from the cream bronzer in fear that it will turn my face orange and ruin my foundation. That’s not the case with this bronzer! It gives just enough bronze to sculpt and warm the face. I also love how you can glide the stick or apply it with a foundation brush.
Beauty Tip: Apply cream bronzer under the foundation to allow for a more natural, blended application. Follow with powder bronzer on top for extra definition.
#4 Tarte — Amazonian Clay Full Coverage Foundation
I love matte foundation, but I always felt like I was wearing it, which can be uncomfortable, especially if you live in a humid climate. I’ve always wanted a foundation that would minimize my pores, give me full coverage, lasts all day, and feel like I was wearing nothing! Sounds like too much to ask for, huh? Well, Tarte knew the assignment when they released their Amazonian Clay Foundation. When trying this out, I was so shocked by the results and knew I had found my go-to foundation.
What makes Tartes foundation different from the rest is its Amazonian Clay formula sucks up excess oil from the skin — leaving you shine-free throughout the day and helping acne-prone skin. So if you struggle with acne or oily skin, give this foundation a try!
#5 Maybelline — Instant Age Rewind Concealer
Instant Age Rewind and I have been riding together since middle school! More on the affordable side, this drug store concealer is my go-to for concealing acne, eye bags, and any blemishes. Additionally, I use this along with the MILK Matte Bronzer to sculpt the face. This concealer is easy to use and blendable. I go for the neutralizing color to help cancel any redness in my skin and usually apply it under my foundation.
Beauty Tip: When applying concealer, give it a minute before blending it in. Letting it dry a little will allow for better coverage.
#6 Makeup Forever — Wherever Walnut Lip Liner
Ever since Kylie Jenner started overlining her lips in 2014, I think it’s safe to say everyone started going crazy trying to find that lip liner color that created that same lip effect. I can’t tell you how many lip liners I tried until finding this one in 2018.
Wherever Walnut is that perfect pinky brown. Not too brown, not too pink. JUST PERFECT! It glides easily and puts control in your hands when lining your lips. You can even fill your lips in or use another lipstick with it. My favorite part is how it last throughout eating and drinking. I take it with me everywhere I go!
Beauty Tip: After applying lip liner, add a 1–2 shade lighter lipstick in the center to create the illusion of fuller and plumper lips.
#7 Laura Mercier — Translucent Loose Setting Powder
When you need a little extra power to keep your foundation matte and long-lasting, check out the Laura Mercier setting powder! This light powder is perfect for absorbing excess moisture and oil and keeping it that way throughout the day! If you find it too pricey, there are countless dupes for translucent powder at your local drug store. Examples include Revolution or Airspun Loose Face Powder.
Beauty Tip: Use a beauty blender sponge to place your translucent powder accurately and even further sculpt the face. I do this under my cheekbones in the lower buccal area to create a sharp line under my contour. Then, blend with a powder brush.
#8 Rare Beauty — Perfect Strokes Matte Liquid Liner
Miss Selena Gomez went OFF with this matte liquid liner!
Finding the perfect liquid liner is difficult. Some felt tips are either too thick, too thin, or too bendable. Having a sturdy and smooth felt tip is a must to achieve the perfect winged liner, and that is precisely what this one product does.
This liner is long-wearing, waterproof, and formulated with ultra-black pigments for dramatic definition every time. I love this liner specifically because the tip is made with over 1000 vegan bristles to lay down long-lasting, ultra-black lines with perfect precision every time.
As new beauty brands come to the scene, I am so excited to try out new products. The ones I listed above will be sticking with me for quite some time, and I urge anyone looking for something new to try to check these out as well!
